What is abdominal wall hernia?
An abdominal wall hernia can occur due to a weakening of the abdominal wall (e.g. rectus diastasis), e.g. epigastric hernia or semilunar hernia; or as a result of a rupture after a previous operation, e.g. after a caesarean section, an appendectomy, a midline incision (laparotomy).
